Half-day workshop
Risk-reward workshop
A half-day classroom session where you measure risk, set ratio floors, and leave with three scored practice trade plans.
Who it is for
Traders who can already spot support, resistance, and a few candlestick or structure patterns — but still enter first and invent the exit later. If your journal shows winners that barely cover losers, or stops that wander, this half-day is built for you.
Result you walk out with
By the close of the session you hold three handwritten practice plans. Each names the entry zone, invalidation level, reward target, planned R:R, and maximum risk in dollars. You also leave with a personal ratio floor — the minimum you will accept before a setup earns a place on your watchlist.
What is included
- Opening lecture on risk units, ratio floors, and why “hope” is not a target
- Live marking of stops against swing structure on index and FX charts
- Position-size table work using account risk percentages you choose
- Three timed practice plans scored against a shared checklist
- Printed worksheet pack and a digital copy of the ratio table
- Tea, coffee, and a short break for questions between blocks
What is not included
- Broker account setup or platform tutorials
- Personal financial product recommendations
- Guarantees of trading profit
- Overnight access to the studio or private mentoring after the half-day
Provider and format
Led by Code Repo’s lead instructor in our North Sydney room. Cap of twelve participants so every person marks their own charts on the shared screen wall. Delivery is in English, in person only for this flagship format.
Process and duration
- Settle and frame (30 min) — review of how R:R sits inside technical analysis, not beside it.
- Stop geometry (70 min) — place invalidation where structure actually breaks; reject cosmetic stops.
- Targets and floors (60 min) — measure reward against measured risk; set your floor.
- Size and practice (90 min) — convert risk % into lots/shares; complete three scored plans.
- Close (20 min) — checklist for Monday’s open and how to book a follow-up desk review if needed.
Total seated time is about 4.5 hours including breaks.
Preparation
Bring screenshots of two recent trades (winners or losers) and a rough sense of how much of your account you are willing to risk on a single idea. Paper and printed worksheets are supplied; you may use a tablet for notes if you prefer.
Constraints
Places are limited. The session assumes basic chart literacy — if you are brand new to candles and swings, ask us about a short primer call before you register. Markets shown are for teaching; we do not execute live orders during the workshop.
Next step
Check upcoming workshop dates or send an enquiry with your preferred month. A seat is held once we confirm payment details and send the pre-read checklist.
